Pickleball Lessons at PickleChoo

Pickleball Lessons in Singapore — TAG-Certified Coaching at PickleChoo

At PickleChoo, we believe great coaching is the fastest path to improvement. All our pickleball coaches are certified professionals from the TAG International Tennis Academy (TAG) — one of Southeast Asia’s most respected sports training organisations, with a track record spanning over two decades of developing competitive racket sports players across Singapore.

Whether you’re a complete beginner picking up a paddle for the first time or an experienced player looking to sharpen your competitive edge, our structured coaching programmes are tailored to your level, goals, and schedule. Lessons take place at our premium outdoor venues in Singapore, with court hire included in your lesson fee.

What to Expect in Your First Pickleball Lesson

Your first lesson at PickleChoo is designed to be welcoming, practical, and immediately useful. A typical beginner session covers:

  • Equipment familiarisation — grip, paddle weight, and correct holding technique from the start
  • Court orientation — understanding the kitchen (non-volley zone), service boxes, and court dimensions
  • The serve — legal underhand serve motion, placement, and consistency fundamentals
  • The kitchen rule — the most important rule for beginners, explained clearly with on-court practice
  • Basic rally and dinking — building consistency and court feel from your very first session

Most beginners leave their first lesson able to play a full game. Paddles and balls are provided — just bring court shoes and comfortable sportswear. Not sure what to expect? Read our Beginner’s Guide to Pickleball in Singapore before your first session.

Meet Our Coaches

Coach Vince Geo Serino — Lead Pickleball Coach

Coach Vince Geo Serino — Lead pickleball coach at PickleChoo Singapore

Coach Vince is PickleChoo’s lead pickleball coach and the primary architect of our structured coaching curriculum. Certified through the TAG International Tennis Academy, Coach Vince combines deep technical knowledge of racket sports biomechanics with a systematic, progression-based coaching methodology. His sessions are built around three pillars: correct technique from the outset, purposeful footwork, and match-ready game strategy.

Coach Vince works with players at all levels — from first-timers learning the kitchen rule to intermediate players refining their third-shot drop and transition game. His ability to diagnose and correct technique issues quickly makes him especially effective for players who have developed habits from casual play and want to reset their foundations properly.

Coach Al Michael Madrio — Beginner & Intermediate Development

Coach Al Michael Madrio — TAG-certified pickleball coach at PickleChoo Singapore

Coach Al Michael specialises in beginner and intermediate player development — the phase of learning where the right guidance makes the biggest long-term difference. Certified by the TAG International Tennis Academy, his coaching philosophy centres on building well-rounded players: consistent, confident, and adaptable regardless of who they’re playing against.

His sessions use structured, progressive drills that introduce skills in the right order — from fundamentals through to game situations — in a logical sequence that prevents beginner mistakes from becoming ingrained habits. Players working with Coach Al Michael consistently report fast, measurable improvement alongside a genuine enjoyment of the learning process.

Coach Jeffrie Jumawan — Competitive Play & Tactical Development

Coach Jeffrie Jumawan — PickleChoo Singapore pickleball coach

Coach Jeffrie is PickleChoo’s specialist for players who want to compete — whether in social leagues, club competitions, or formal tournaments. A TAG International Tennis Academy-certified coach, his sessions focus on the tactical elements that separate recreational players from competitive ones: court positioning, shot selection under pressure, pattern play, and reading opponents.

Players working with Coach Jeffrie develop real match intelligence — the ability to construct points deliberately, exploit opponents’ weaknesses, and maintain composure in pressure situations. If you’re aiming to compete in a Singapore pickleball league or tournament, Coach Jeffrie’s coaching programme is the most direct path to competitive readiness.

Coach Israel Abarquez — Fundamentals, Consistency & the Mental Game

Coach Israel Abarquez — TAG-certified pickleball coach at PickleChoo Singapore

Coach Israel brings a holistic approach to pickleball coaching that goes beyond technique — addressing the mental and psychological dimensions of performance that often hold players back more than physical limitations. Certified through the TAG International Tennis Academy, he emphasises fundamentals, repeatability, and the calm, composed decision-making that wins points in close matches.

His coaching is especially effective for players who perform well in practice but struggle under match pressure, or players who have hit a plateau and can’t seem to break through to the next level. Coach Israel’s systematic approach to building mental toughness alongside technical skill produces players who are consistent, reliable, and genuinely hard to beat.

Are PickleChoo’s coaches certified?

Yes. All PickleChoo coaches are certified through the TAG International Tennis Academy, one of Southeast Asia’s leading racket sports coaching organisations. TAG certification ensures our coaches meet a structured standard for sports instruction, safety, and player development methodology.

Can beginners take pickleball lessons at PickleChoo?

Absolutely. We coach players at every level — from those who have never held a paddle to experienced players preparing for competitive play. Our coaches will assess your current level and design a programme that matches your pace and goals.

Where do lessons take place?

Lessons are held at PickleChoo Arena (One North, Buona Vista) and PickleChoo Prime (New Industrial Road). Your coach will confirm the venue when you book. Court hire is included in your lesson fee for all sessions.

How do I book a pickleball lesson?

You can book lessons by contacting us by WhatsApp at +65 029 8400. We recommend booking at least 48 hours in advance to secure your preferred coach and time slot.

How quickly will I see improvement with coaching?

Most players notice tangible improvement after just 2–3 sessions of structured coaching — particularly in consistency, court positioning, and understanding of the kitchen rule.
